Control loop
Each control automation is based on a simple control loop. Even complicated tasks may be reduced to such a control loop.
Web position
Starting point of the loop is the actual web position.
Sensors
A sensor detects the actual web position without physical contact to the web. An infra-red sensor or a wide band sensor will be used depending on the task and on the conditions on the machine.
Position controller
The controller compares the actual value of the web position with the target value and sends an appropriate correction signal to the actuator.
Actuators
The actuator corrects the web run. Depending on the application and on the material to be handled the actuator will be a segmented roller guider, a steering roller or a web guider.
